Hometown: Broomfield, CO What age did you start hunting? I started around the age of 5, with my father and grandfather hunting small game and deer. How many days a year do you hunt: I don't get to hunt as much as I'd like to as I'm usually guiding clients, but when I do get a chance you will always find me in the woods, chasing turkey's and waterfowl and deer. Favorite Hunting Area: West Central Nebraska/ Southeast Kansas Favorite Style of Turkey Hunting: I enjoy all aspects of turkey hunting, not every situation is the same so one needs to be versatile Gun of Choice: Beretta 391 semi auto, synthetic Favorite Ol' Tom Product: Technical Pants/ Time and Motion Vest Favorite turkey call: Every call is important, but I like the versatility of my Diaphragm calls Proudest Achievement: My proudest is raising my two girls ages 16 and 10, and teaching them what I know about the outdoors. Being on Ol' Tom's Pro Staff. Additional Website Link (if possible): www.aplusgamebirds.com Email (optional): cotruckman@yahoo.com I am always enjoying the outdoors, whether it's scouting or taking out new clients, being with my girls, or setting up blinds or stands. Come about the middle of July I will be found setting up trail cameras getting ready for Deer season, also fixing up duck blinds. I mostly enjoy scouting for turkey's early on in late winter to early spring, as they are a different animal during that time. They are starting to get ready for their eventual spring rituals. One thing is for sure, from the beginning of March I will be in the turkey woods everyday until the end of May, chasing the ever elusive Long beards. The majestic sense of the woods coming alive after, the cold winter months is a refreshing site. Whether I'm chasing turkeys, deer, or waterfowl, you can bet that I will always be in my clothing from Ol' Tom, Drake Waterfowl, RutWear as they are the warmest and most rugged clothes that I as a guide and fellow hunter have ever used. |
